George Danzer Named 2014 World Series of Poker Player of the Year

German poker pro George Danzer has been named 2014 World Series of Poker Player of the Year, and well deserved we might add.

The 32-year-old, originally from Sao Paulo, Brazil, won his first and second WSOP bracelets earlier in the year while playing in Vegas.  These included the $10k Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo and Razz events for combined winnings of nearly $650,000.

Danzer cashed a remarkable10 times in WSOP events this year for a total of $867,649, while amassing 923.5 POTY points.  That point total turned out to be 100 more points than his nearest competitor, Brandon Shack-Harris.  Total live tournament winnings this year for Danzer amounted to $2,073,305.

My goal since 2005 was to win a bracelet and I’ve fought hard every year for one. Then it happened, and a week later again. From there, everything else just developed it by itself.
