Speculation is that the $100k Challenge may have acted as a distraction for a number of the big name pros in attendance at this year’s Aussie Millions.  Day 1C was likely to attract a decent number of participants when compared to the lukewarm results of both Day 1a and Day 1b, as PokerListings.com can attest to:

Day 1a and Day 1b have been slightly underwhelming attendance-wise drawing a combined total of 340 players but fortunately Day 1c stands a good chance of being the biggest day yet.

With the $100k Challenge out of the way we’re expecting a high percentage of big name pros with heavy-hitters like Joe Hachem, Daniel Negreanu, Jason Mercier, Gus Hansen and Erik Seidel likely to hit the felt.

The $100K High Rollers Challenge was by far the most exciting event at the 2012 Aussie Millions thus far with Las Vegas-based high stakes poker player Dan Smith taking over $1 million back home.
