State Court of Appeals Upholds Conviction of Poker Game Murderer

The state Court of Appeals in Minnesota has upheld the conviction of a man charged with fatally shooting a colleague during a poker game in St. Cloud. 

Leun Thongpasom was charged and convicted in Benton Country last year of second-degree murder and possession of a firearm without the proper permit.

Thongpasom is due to serve a 30-year prison sentence.  He claimed self defense in the murder of 43-year-old Ki Nahouakhong. 

The state Court of Appeals found that there was ample witness testimony to prove otherwise.
