At first glance, it would appear that Twins starting pitcher Mike Pelfrey is going to be destroyed by the red hot Royals, having allowed 35-for-87 at bats against the current roster.  There were 15 RBIs but just two home runs permitted.

Best Bets – OVER 8

Best DFS Picks – Lorenzo Cain, Alex Gordon, Eric Hosmer, Omar Infante, Mike Moustakas, Salvador Perez

PITCHING MATCHUP: Twins RH Mike Pelfrey (0-0, 4.50 ERA) vs. Royals RH Jeremy Guthrie (1-0, 5.54)

Betting Line – Royals -155, Twins +145, Total: 8

Six Royals players have hit .400 or better against Pelfrey.

Lorenzo Cain (Kansas City) – He’s had five runs off of eight hits in the past ten days and is 3-for-7 against Pelfrey.  Do the math and Cain is a “must have” for your daily fantasy roster this evening.

Alex Gordon (Kansas City) – He has hit 7 in the last week and is 3-for-7 vs. Pelfrey.

Eric Hosmer (Kansas City) – He is 3-for-6 against Pelfrey.  With 20 at bats over the last seven days Hosmer has hit 7.

Omar Infante (Kansas City) – With 5 hits on 12 at bats over the past seven days, Infante is 16-for-39 vs. Pelfrey.

Mike Moustakas (Kansas City) – He has gone up 30 times in the past seven days and hit nearly one third of those with 6 resulting in runs.  Moustakas should be able to pad those numbers and his fantasy points further having gone 3-for-6 vs. Pelfrey with one homer.

Salvador Perez (Kansas City) – He’s belted 8 of 25 with 2 runs over the past seven days with an impressive 4-for-8 showing versus Pelfrey.  Two of those were RBIs.

Guthrie has managed to give up four runs in each of his two outings.  He settled for a no-decision against Oakland the other day giving up seven hits - including three home runs - over six innings.  All the more reason to love the OVER 8 here.

Guthrie has a 3.38 ERA in 16 games (14 starts) versus Minnesota.

The total has hit 8 or gone OVER that number in five of the last six meetings between these two teams.
