Poker Player Roy The Boy Brindley Annoyed

European poker pro Roy "The Boy" Brindley reads PokerHelper.com.

But he doesn't like everything he reads there.

Especially if it's about him.

PokerHelper.com reported on March 26, 2009, that Brindley, a professional poker player who was born in England and now lives in Ireland, had just written an autobiography.

PokerHelper.com questioned the writing of the autobiography, wondering why a relatively unknown poker player who has never won a major tournament would think anyone would be interested in the story of his life.

"Roy ‘The Boy' Brindley is the latest professional poker player to write a book," PokerHelper.com noted. "But will anyone care? The new tome, titled ‘Life's a Gamble: The High Stakes and Low Life of a Poker Professsional,' is an autobiography. But Brindley is hardly a household name. Or a big champ...He's going to have to change his name to Roy ‘The Buy' Brindley, because he's the only one who's going to buy this lame book."

Apparently it takes a long time for news, even via the Internet, to travel across the ocean from North America to Europe, because it took Brindley a month to respond to the PokerHelper.com news story about his new autobiography.

In an e-mail to PokerHelper.com dated April 26, 2009, Brindley wrote: "Just tracked down your stunning book review at PokerHelper.com. I am obviously guessing you have neither seen or read ‘Life's a Gamble,' which neither boasts of achievements or makes outrageous claims. Therein I would very much like for you to read the book and understand the theme, which is about the pitfalls of gambling, the brutal murders of retired greyhounds in America and a host of other non-poker-related issues. Is there a postal address for you? Kind regards and thanks, Roy Brindley."

PokerHelper.com gave Brindley a mailing address and looks forward to reviewing his book.
